As of 01 April 2019, the NHS Leadership Academy joined the new People Directorate function within NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSE &I). A consultation followed, in order to align the structures of the NHS Leadership Academy and its 10 local Leadership Academies into the seven region structure followed by NHSE &I, and to ensure our work enables the delivery of the People Plan.
This means the merging of the Yorkshire & the Humber and North East Academies to form the North East and Yorkshire Leadership Academy from April 2020; it also means that some colleagues will be redeployed into new roles in the NHS &I People Directorate or wider healthcare system from this autumn. During this change we are committed to delivering our programmes, workshops, CPD and masterclasses for the region as planned for this financial year. We also look forward to continuing to collaborate with our regional colleagues, friends and stakeholders in the system to develop the leadership and culture as described in the interim People Plan to support the NHS Long Term Plan.
If you have any questions about the restructure please contact Lucy Scarisbrick in the first instance.
