Coaching NHS leaders in a VUCA world - last few places remaining

Leaders at all levels within the NHS experience the disorientation of needing to lead in an environment characterised by ever greater levels of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity (VUCA).

This workshop 22 May in Leeds explores the required shifts that all leaders in the NHS will need to make if they are to navigate this complex and uncertain leadership space and how coaches can support that transition.

We invite our public sector colleagues to join us for this workshop which will be of interest not just to those who coach NHS leaders, but also to leaders as well and will comprise elements of tutorial, discussion and exercises. It combines both the practicalities, as well as the theoretical underpinnings in leading in a VUCA world and coaching leaders experiencing VUCA.

See our website below for further information and to register, or contact Lucy Scarisbrick.

Regional NHS BAME Women's Summit

We are pleased to announce further details of this summit taking place 28 June in central Leeds. We invite women in Yorkshire and the Humber in any role in the NHS, who identify themselves as belonging to the black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) community. We welcome transgender and non-binary people working in the NHS who are BAME to join us at this event also.

With keynote speaker Professor Uduak Archibong, MBE, the aims of the summit include to;
  • Raise the level of ambition on inclusion – with a focus on BAME women leaders and leadership systems across NHS funded services.
  • Quicken the pace of change towards improving talent and inclusion for BAME women.
  • Ensure that Yorkshire and the Humber are equipped to achieve and leave an ever increasing and sustainable legacy of talent and inclusion.
  • Enable BAME women greater access to high quality development in order to grow their skills, knowledge base and capabilities.
  • Create a safe space for BAME women to network, discuss learn and share with other BAME women.

Action Learning Set Facilitator Programme

Applications for the NHS Leadership Academy's Action Learning Set Facilitator programme (ALS) are now open!

This fully-funded programme develops high-level facilitation skills for supporting action learning within the NHS. We want to develop a faculty of ALS facilitators that is drawn from across the whole landscape of health and care. Our aim is to develop a team of facilitators from the NHS – to grow skills within, as opposed to purchase them on a consultancy basis.

See the website below for further details and to apply by 08 July.
