Coaching for Inclusion Programme open for applications

Coaching is one of the most powerful leadership development interventions an organisation can deploy.  The NHS Leadership Academy want to harness this power to make a meaningful difference to diversity and inclusion within the NHS by recruiting 300 committed and ambitious qualified coaches to develop as a Coach who has specialised in inclusion.

Through this programme, as an inclusion coach, you will be trained to deploy powerful coaching interventions with participants on our positive action programmes (Stepping Up and Ready Now), and underrepresented groups through Local Leadership Academy registers throughout the country.  This will enable the coachees you work with to:

  • Progress into more senior roles
  • Impact systems for greater levels of inclusion
  • Ensure that other black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) and under-represented groups can climb the ‘snowy white peaks’ of the NHS (Kline, R. 2014).
To find out more and apply for the cohort taking place in Leeds in November, see the NHS Leadership Academy website linked below.

Stepping Up programme open now for applications

The Stepping Up programme is a leadership development programme for aspiring black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) colleagues who work within healthcare (the NHS or an organisation providing NHS care).

It aims to create greater levels of sustainable inclusion within the NHS by addressing the social, organisational and psychological barriers restricting BAME colleagues from progressing.

The programme is designed to bridge the gap between where applicants are and where they need to be, to progress into more senior roles. Successful applicants will be empowered to drive forward the inclusion agenda and develop their skills and abilities in order to grow and progress.

See more and apply online via the NHS Leadership Academy website.

Express your interest for the OD Essentials programme

We have commissioned Hart Consultancy to run a three-day OD Essentials Programme for 20 OD Practitioners, to provide participants with an introduction to Organisation Development. It is ideally suited to practitioners who are new to the field or who would like to enhance their practice with some theoretical underpinnings.

This interactive programme will be delivered over a 13-week period enabling participants to apply their learning between each session. Participants will be required to track their own impact and learning as well as contribute to an evaluation of the programme itself.

The programme will help participants to:

  • Be introduced to the OD consultancy cycle
  • Understand action research as a key approach within OD work
  • Explore how data from the field of practice is used to inform intervention design
  • Be introduced to the difference between diagnostic and dialogic OD
  • Gain an understanding of OD evaluation and measurement
  • Reflect on their own practice and apply the learning in practice

We are looking for health and care colleagues who currently have a role as an OD Practitioner and are involved with delivering change.
