Aims and objectives

The aims of this session are to increase skills and knowledge on how to approach and make a success of becoming an ‘in-house’ coach who can deliver to teams including:

  • Exploring the progression from individual to team coaching, including contracting for teams
  • Practice group facilitation techniques
  • Acquire a range of different  tools and approaches to develop team cohesiveness and performance
  • Understand how to use models for high performing teams including  Lencioni’s model for team function and dysfunction
  • Explore ways of handling difficult dynamics

About the Facilitator

Julia has over 20 years’ experience of senior management in the NHS, in both primary and secondary care, and prior to that in the private sector. She is a highly experienced coach, facilitator, supervisor and trainer, with a wealth of experience in corporate and clinical governance, implementing organization-wide system and culture change. She currently works as an independent coach and trainer in addition to a part time role as a Project Lead at Leeds Teaching Hospitals: she is currently overseeing a city-wide system integration project to improve the timeliness and effectiveness of clinical referrals from primary care.

She continues to support local organisational development and quality improvement agendas, working with individuals at all levels, and having spent considerable periods of her career working with senior management teams and Trust Boards.
