Peer Learning groups

We are funding 14 Peer Learning Group places to support individuals in their personal and professional development, to improve their working practice for the benefit of patients, their organisation and wider systems across health, care and voluntary sectors.

These peer learning groups draw heavily from an action learning approach but each group will have the freedom to agree the exact way of working, learning approaches and focus with the group facilitator at their first session.

You don’t need to know anything about action learning/peer learning to put in an expression of interest, just be:

  • curious and willing to learn through your own and others’ experience
  • willing to offer honest support and challenge to your peers
  • willing to receive and reflect upon challenge and support from others
  • committed to attend all 6 dates AND to put your learning into practice

If you do want to know a bit more about action learning this is a handy link to the Wiki article and you can find a review of evidence for the effectiveness of action learning here for improved problem solving, personal and organisational effectiveness, adaptability and resilience.

Aims and objectives

Upon taking part in this programme Individuals will be able to;

  • facilitate their own learning sets/peer group learning sessions in future
  • continue to build learning capacity across systems and within organisations

Invitation to take part

We invite expressions of interest from people who would value regular protected time to learn and develop through mutual support and challenge from their peers. You will be part of a peer learning group of up to 7 people that meet for a half day approximately every 6 weeks over 6 sessions.

The Peer Learning Group dates in 2020 are:

  • 25 February
  • 3 April
  • 15 May
  • 3 July
  • 7 August
  • 4 September

You will need to participate in all 6 dates to secure a place.

Unless you express a preference, you will be allocated to either a morning or afternoon session.

The offer of 14 places for 2019/20 is very limited and if demand exceeds supply we will use expression of interest information to help shape future offers.

How to apply and further information

Please send your expression of interest using the link above before midday, 31 January and contact Charlie Wray with any queries.
